COME STUDY WITH US

There are many possibilities on the UCSC Campus Natural Reserve for internships, independent studies, theses and class or lab exercises. Many of our projects have been done as individual or group projects by students including the original design of the reserve, the interpretive trail, the Lower Moore Creek "FROG HEAVEN" restoration project and the brochures we have on the reserve overall and on the interpretive trail. We are grateful to the students who gave their time and energy to help us care for our reserve and make it more useful to others.

If you have some time and want to earn some credit you could do:

  • Baseline studies on flora and fauna
  • Bird surveys
  • Studies of trail users
  • Design of additional interpretive trails.
  • Articles for the newspaper
  • Interpretive panals for our entry points
  • Vegetation and trail restoration
  • Web site additions
  • Projects on biology or ecology
  • GIS mapping
  • Just about whatever you need to practice

Come by my office and talk to me about your needs and lets see what we can work out. My office hours are usually posted outside my door at 467 NS2.
